I don't understand why people think they can run a business and when you walk in the door it smells urin and the store owners look like bums. I even written an article about this before - I think it was this one http://astorefront.blogspot.com/p/store-design-and-storefront.htmlStorefrontBusinessnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7150649422744296369.post-71360326728487476482015-03-01T04:44:13.359-08:002015-03-01T04:44:13.359-08:00My insurance denied me. I've attended a few stores where (as a customer) I've wanted someone removed for breaking one of those 3 rules.

I'm not sure what insurance is like in America, but in Australia you should be able to claim the legal defence costs under your liability insurance (my current job is an insurance broker).Scott Robertsonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7150649422744296369.post-89397945787201422602015-02-27T16:50:42.392-08:002015-02-27T16:50:42.392-08:00Some of them do bathe in their culture (of bacteri...Some of them do bathe in their culture (of bacteria), and that's the problem.Lance Meibosnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7150649422744296369.post-91059690424855186152015-02-27T10:01:13.011-08:002015-02-27T10:01:13.011-08:00This is a interestingly timed piece. So far beyond, they were asked to correct the issue and then they would be invited back.

This person brought a lawsuit against us. We did nothing wrong. We defended ourselves successfully and was found that we did nothing wrong. Defending ourselves cost a lot of money, but we struggled through it. We were told that it was unlikely they would file a full civil suit against us after these findings. We went on with our plans to move, reestablish ourselves and start again. The store was doing just fine.

This individual has now decided to go forward with the full civil suit.

As you can imagine it would be a great deal of money to defend ourselves. I (Bob) have also been named in this suit. This would cause us to have to defend two separate cases. According to legal advice, this case could be very expensive, go on for a long time and there is no guarantee we would even win.

After a lot of emotional discussions we have come to the decision to shut the store down. Because of this, my wife and myself will be financially ruined. As hard as a decision this was to make, it was the only one we could make.

So yeah. Rules are nice and all. But even those can be shattered by people just wanting easy money. It has ruined my outlook on this business. The business was hard enough without worrying about these kinds of things. I am working hard to even get any joy from gaming back.

On a side note. I would like to thank you for this blog. It helped with alot of things and you were very nice and helpful when we met. Good luck.Bob Shaffernoreply@blogger.com
