The View
Our customer loyalty software has been down for a couple weeks now. After consulting with the programmers and our POS consultants, it looks like a Microsoft Windows Vista update has prevented the program from accessing the registry. The programmer is working on it, but the advice from my IT guys is to go back to Windows XP, since that's what everyone is familiar with. When I upgraded to this new computer, I verified that Microsoft Retail Dynamics and the new loyalty software was compatible. Unfortunately, so few retailers are using Vista, supporting these programs on that platform is very difficult. So now we wait for the programmer to come up with a solution.
